Glam Studios secures Rs 2 cr funding from angel investors

Brand of affordable salons Glam Studios today said it has secured Rs 2 crore in angel funding from Pradeep Mirani and existing investors Aqeel Ahmed, Anand Ladsariya, Nitin Agarwal and others.
The round was organised by I Plan Wealth Management.
The funds received will be deployed in expansion, operations and technology. Earlier this year, Glam Studios had received undisclosed amount of seed funding which was used to scale the brand up to 40 salons and create a cloud based salon management system.

Manish Gupta to launch startup incubator UDGAM
Manish Gupta, Founder of Jagan Institute of Management Studies (JIMS) will launch his startup incubator UDGAM in partnership with starthub Miami and the National Entrepreneur Center Florida.
The selected startups will be given an opportunity to be a part of UDGAM's Incubation Program at Gurugram and Jaipur for six months, to be a part of an Entrepreneurship course of six weeks and also be provided financial support through seedfunding.

UDGAM has been set up to nurture early stage organisations across sectors. Under the incubation program, UDGAM will provide startups with office space, assistance in marketing, networking, logistics, mentoring and recruitment and capital funding.

Singapore Tourism Board appoints GB Srithar as RD for SAMEA * Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has appointed GB Srithar as Regional Director for South Asia, Middle East & Africa (SAMEA).
Prior to his appointment as regional director, Srithar headed the brand campaigns team at STB's HQ's marketing group, Singapore Tourism Board said in a statement.
He had earlier worked in India between April 2010 and December 2013 as Area Director, South Asia,it added.
"I seek to extend STB's hands in partnership to our friends in the travel fraternity across, not only in the key metros but also in the Tier 2 and 3 cities, which will contribute increasingly to the rise of the international visitorship for Singapore," Srithar said.
