Power generation at the 3X500 MW Vallur Thermal power plant near here has been affected with two units tripping due to technical glitch, officials said today.
"The second unit tripped last evening following leakage in the boiler tube. In order to attend the problem, power has to be suspended from that unit. It was producing about 380 MW- 400 MW of power", an official told PTI.
Similarly, power generated from the first unit at the plant was also suspended after facing similar issue, he said.
"This is just coincidence. We are working on it. We expect power to be restored by tomorrow morning from first unit", he added.
