Global Konkani conclave on Aug 23

The second global Konkani conclave would be organised here by the Jagotik Konknni Songhotton (JKS-Global Konkani Organisation) on August 23.
Addressing reporters here, JKS secretary Eric Ozario said the draft of the 'Konkani language plan' prepared to ensure a secure future for Konkani would be adopted at the conclave. More than 200 delegates from around the world would participate in the conclave representing various Konkani organisations, he said.
The work on the Konkani language plan was initiated at the first conclave of the JKS in August last year. A draft was prepared by a committee comprising intellectuals and prominent Konkani leaders and circulated globally among all the Konkani-speaking community, he said.

The draft would be finalised and adopted at the coming conclave and would be published in Kannada, Devanagari and Romi scripts, Ozario said, adding that this would be a historic initiative to protect the future of Konkani language and culture.
