US auto giant General Motors will recall 5,785 imported Cadillac sedans in China due to defects in front seat bracket welding, state media reported today.
Starting August 31, Sanghai General Motors will recall 2014 Cadillac ATS and CTS vehicles because of a front seat bracket welding defect, China's quality watchdog said.
The recall involves vehicles manufactured between July 29 and December 20, 2013, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said in a statement.
In some of the vehicles, if the welding is incomplete, the front passenger seat bracket could loosen if the car crashes, the state-run Xinhua reported.
GM will notify owners, examine the affected vehicles and eliminate potential hazards free of cost.
