Global pharmaceutical distributor GNH India today said it has become the first Indian company to clear the Kenyan Pharmacy and Poisons Board audit, clearing the way for exports of scheduled drugs to Kenya.
The certification will help GNH India trade freely with Kenya, the company said in a release.
The company will export the first shipment of lifesaving drugs to Kenya soon.
The Pharmacy and Poisons Board is the Drug Regulatory Authority established under the Pharmacy and Poisons Act, Kenya, and is responsible for regulating the practise of pharmacy and the manufacture and trade in drugs and poisons in the African country.
"It gives us tremendous pleasure to be the first Indian specialised wholesaler to clear the audit by any foreign body, and we look forward to many more opportunities," GNH India Associate Director Piyush Gupta said.
GNH India exports to over 180 countries and has 135,000 product lines. The company had recently exported a large consignment of LSD to Yemen amongst other countries in Africa and the Middle East.
