The Goa health department has suspended 20 of its staffers for "indiscipline", state Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said today.
"The staffers attached to the emergency ambulance services, were suspended yesterday after I and officials of the department conducted a surprise inspection at different locations on Friday night", Rane told PTI.
"Few of the staff was not found with the ambulances in the night. This is a serious lapse. We cannot play with the life and death of people. You can't just park the ambulances and disappear," the Minister said.
He said new persons have replaced them so that the services are not affected.
Rane had last week warned that indiscipline won't be tolerated.
