Goa Assembly today congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for forming the government at the Centre with complete majority after almost 20 years.
The House adopted a resolution congratulating Modi for forming government at the Centre with complete majority, thereby ensuring a stable government.
"The country is looking forward to develop India to great heights in all sectors and bring back the pride of our country in the world," says the resolution which was unanimously adopted.
State Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said the Union government after getting absolute majority now has no excuse, if it fails to deliver in five years.
"Delivery is essential for the Union government now...India's economy was virtually on oxygen when Modi government was sworn-in. I had no daring to ask for the financial package for the state looking at the affairs of central coffers. But I am confident that the Centre will execute developments in the state," Parrikar said.
Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker Rajendra Arlekar, while passing the resolution, said there are a lot of expectations from the Union government that it will take India to greater heights.
Leader of Opposition Pratapsingh Rane and others also spoke on the resolution.
