Goa, Chinese province of Zhejiang want to boost tourism ties

Goa and Chinese province of Zhejiang today expressed willingness to boost tourism ties between the two regions.
"Goa Tourism Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar proposed furtheringtourismties with China duringan interaction with Zhu Chen, Mayor of Lishui city in Zhejiang province, and his delegationin Panaji," a state tourism department spokesman said.
The ten-member delegation, led by Zhu, isin Goaas part of a four-day official visitto India.
"Lishui, a tourism hubin Eastern China, is haunted by Indian travellers in large numbers," the spokesman said.
Ajgaonkar and Zhu "expressed eagerness to boost tourism ties betweenthe two regions", he said.
"Zhu saidhe was overwhelmedby the warmth and hospitality extended to him and his delegation by Goa Tourism," the spokesman said.
"He described Goa as a well developed State and was mesmerised by its naturalbeauty," he added.
