Congress MLA Chandrakant Kavlekar, accused in a disproportionate assets case, today said he would depose before the Anti-Corruption Bureau of Vigilance department on May 14, producing all the required documents.
"I am innocent in the entire case. I have all the documents to prove that there is no illegality," Kavlekar told PTI.
The legislator has been booked under the Anti Corruption Act for purchasing properties in Kerala allegedly through ill-gotten wealth during his tenure as Chairman of state-run Industrial Development Corporation.
Kavlekar, a tribal leader, said that he is ready to face the inquiry by ACB.
"I will depose before ACB on May 14 providing them all the documents to prove my innocence," he said.
The ACB has filed a case for possessing assets disproportionate to known sources of his income -- about Rs 5 crore -- against Kavlekar.
