Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) Executive Director Sandip Jacques in a communication to the GCA has given time until September 22 for the body to reply to the show cause notice.
The cricketing body would have to explain why it should not be derecognised for failing to adhere to Justice Pendse Commission recommendations, which had ruled that current GCA president Vinod Phadke should not be allowed to participate in the affairs of the body.
Confirming that the SAG has extended the time limit to respond to its notice, GCA's acting president Shekhar Salkar said that an urgent managing committee meeting would be convened within two days to decide the response to the show cause notice.
"The committee will meet and deliberate about the reply. We also have to decide who will represent GCA at the meeting called by the Board of Cricket Control of India on September 26," Salkar said.
On September 3, the managing committee meeting had withdrawn all powers of Phadke, to save itself from being derecognised by the Goa state government.
