Goa fight back, reduce Tripura to 139/5

Amit Yadav and Gauresh Gawas shared five wickets between them as Goa gave a spirited fightback by reducing Tripura to 139 for five in their first innings on a curtailed second day of their Ranji Trophy cricket match here today.
Goa resumed their first innings on 234 for eight in the morning and they were soon bowled out for 251. Both the wickets went to seamer Manisankar Murasingh.
In reply, Tripura's opening partnership was worth 43 but Gawas (2/42) took two in two balls to peg them back. Bishal Ghosh (37) and Rakesh Solanki (43) steadied the innings for a while before Yadav (3/27) struck twice in successive overs.
Captain Abhijit Dey was battling on 23 as Tripura trail by 112 runs after only 43.3 overs were possible in their innings.
Kaushal Acharjee was giving Dey company on eight at the draw of stumps.

Goa: 251 all out in 75.5 overs (Reagan Pinto 82, Amogh Sunil Desai 60; Rana Dutt 6/64).
Tripura: 139 for 5 in 43.3 overs (Bishal Gosh 37, Rakesh Solanki 43; Amit Yadav 3/27, Gauresh Gawas 2/42).
