The brother-in-law of Goa Water Resources Department Minister Vinod Palyekar today filed a police complaint over the former's name being dragged into a raid carried out on a "matka" gambling den on June 29.

Shamsundar Kerkar, brother in law of Palyekar, today filed a complaint with Cyber Crime Cell and Pernem police station stating that some social media sites were referring to him as the "main accused" in the case.

He also submitted a few mobile phone numbers which allegedly circulated these false messages.

He further stated that he was being called the "kingpin" despite having nothing to do with the case and this had caused him and his family immense mental agony.

Minister Palyekar demanded a thorough probe and said his brother-in-law's name, and eventually his own, was dragged into a case they have nothing to do with.

A Cyber Crime cell official said that Kerkar's complaint was being examined.
