Various NGOs working in the field of women fitness and breast cancer awareness have organised the run in the city which is expected to see participation from over 2,500 runners, all women, the organisers said.
"Goa Going Pink is a model run organised under the aegis of Pinkathon. The objective of the event is to encourage women's health and fitness.
"It also aims at raising awareness about breast cancer, its causes and prevention," supermodel Milind Soman, who is promoting the marathon, told reporters yesterday.
The marathon will be held in three categories - 3km, 5km and 10km, the organisers stated.
