Goa government transfers 18 senior officers

The Goa government has transferred state's Tourism Director and 17 other senior officers due to "indiscipline" in various departments.
The orders in this regard were issued yesterday.
State Chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar, reacting on the matter, yesterday said the transfers have been ordered owing to indiscipline in various departments.
"We had conducted surprise inspections across all the departments and we found that government servants were indisciplined in many places," the Chief Minister said.
The heads of the departments were asked to put their house in order, he said.
The transfer orders, signed by Additional Secretary (Personnel) Yatindra Maralkar, directed the officers to get relieved within three days of the order.
The state Tourism Director Amey Abhyankar has been transferred to Information Technology (IT) department, relieving Shilpa Shinde, who has been given charge of Director, Women and Child Development department.

Margao Municipal Council Chief Officer Y B Tawde has been made Additional Collector of South Goa. Tawde has been replaced by Siddhivinayak Naik, who will be relieved from the charge of Member Secretary of the Kala Academy.
Undersecretary to the Chief Minister, Sneha Morajkar, has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Administrative Reforms department.
Pravin Barad, who was Assistant Director, Industries department, has been designated Managing Director of Goa State Scheduled Castes & Other Backward Classes Finance & Development Corporation.
