Goa government today said it was "examining" Goa Cricket Association president Vinod Phadke's request for more time to respond to the show-cause notice issued to the sports body.
"We are examining the reply. They have sought more time. There was Ganesh Chaturthi vacation in between. They have also said they want to seek legal advice," Sports Authority of Goa's executive director Sandip Jacques told PTI.
SAG issued notice on August 27, seeking reply within seven days, after the cricket body refused to follow the recommendation of Justice Pendse commission that Phadke should quit over a ticket scam.
The commission had inquired into the scam which took place during an India-Australia match here in 2001.
On September 3, Phadke had asked for fifteen days' time to respond to the notice that threatens de-recognition of GCA.
Jacques said SAG had not yet decided whether the time should be granted.
Majority of GCA members recently passed a resolution demanding Phadke's resignation, to avoid the body from being derecognised. Phadke however said he would not resign and he had BCCI's backing.
