Two persons had died and 30 went missing after a Portuguese-era bridge over Sanvordem river in south Goa collapsed on May 18.
"We have hired a consultancy firm which will conduct a safety audit of all the bridges in the state," Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Sudin Dhavalikar told reporters on the sidelines of an event to lay foundation stone of a flyover project near here.
"The Goa government will incur expenses of Rs 2.30 crore for the safety audit work and the firm will have to complete the task in a year's time," said the minister.
"Those bridges which are in poor condition will be taken up for repairs on a priority basis by the PWD," he said.
