Goa Guv asks students to join cleanliness mission

Stressing on the need for a pollution-free environment for ensuring better living, Goa Governor Mridula Sinha today asked students to join cleanliness mission.
Addressing the diamond jubilee celebrations of the B R Ambedkar University here, she said clean environment was necessary for everyone and students have a pioneering role to play to keep the surrounding clean for ushering in a better living condition for the people.
Those students receiving certificates upon completion of post-graduation courses must take pledge to ensure cleanliness of their houses, and by doing so, they would be creating hygienic living condition in the society, Sinha, native of Bihar's Muzaffarpur district, said.
On this occasion, she gave away gold medals to 49 students out of 203 who were selected for felicitation by the B.R. Ambedkar University.
Sinha also wished success to the students and recalled her own association with the university as its alumnus.
The B.R. Ambedkar University, erstwhile known as Bihar University, has produced great personalities like Dr Rajendra Prasad, Dr J B Kriplani, poet Ramdhari Singh Dinkar and litterateur Acharya Janaki Vallabha Shastri, the Goa Governor said and urged the students to keep up the high tradition.
