The Goa government on Friday extended the services of Drishti Marine, which deploys lifeguards at the state's beaches, till June 30, 2022, a senior state Tourism department official said on Friday.
The company has been deploying its lifeguards at Goa's beaches since 2008, its executive director Ravi Shankar said, adding that its services had seen a "99 per cent" reduction in drowning incidents along the 105-kilometre coastline.
"We have saved 5,000 lives so far," he added.
