"We have organisational structure in 35 constituencies. We have a good hold in 17 constituencies where we can comfortably win. Among these 17 constituencies are Mandrem, represented by Chief Minister Parsekar, and Panaji, the bastion of Union Minister Manohar Parrikar," GSM president Anand Shirodkar said here.
Shirodkar, a close aide of rebel RSS leader Subhash Velingkar, was speaking to PTI in his first interview after taking charge of the party on Sunday.
Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch, which is agitating in Goa over the issue of medium of instruction in schools, has floated GSM.
If MGP cut its ties with BJP and joined hands with GSM, the two parties can come to power in the next year's Goa Assembly elections comfortably, he claimed.
"But even without MGP we will be the factor which will decide who will form the next government which will be without BJP. There is a strong undercurrent against BJP. If the things work well, GSM will also be able to form the next government on its own," Shirodkar said.
