"The tourism department is in the process of appointing a PR agency and a brand consultant for creating positive image about the state within India and abroad," tourism minister Dilip Parulekar told Goa Legislative Assembly today.
The minister was responding to a question by Congress legislator Vishwajit Rane on the floor of the House regarding "steps to encourage tourism."
Parulekar spelled out 12 different measures to encourage tourism, which also included engagement of world class consultant to formulate a new tourism master plan and policy document.
"The consultant will also help government in advising the government regarding formation of tourism promotion board," the minister added.
The government has also initiated steps for development of tourism infrastructure projects like Helli (Helicopter) tourism, amphibian aircraft, Colva coastal circuit, Baga coastal circuit, Goa Hatt, Convention Centre, Institute of Hotel management and others, he said.
