Goan trawler owners strike work;fish markets closed

The fish markets in Panaji, Margao, Vasco, Mapusa and other cities were shut down and none of the fish vendors turn up for trade today.

All Goa Fishermens' Federation began the agitation on Saturday opposing the hike in diesel prices by the Central government and demanded a roll back.

"The fish vendors did not turn up to the market on their own. No one was forced," Domnick Fernandes, executive member of All Goa Fishermen
