The Chief Minister, who is also the president of Assam Olympic Association (AOA), extended his heartiest wishes and greetings to the 270-strong contingent that included officials and players, an official release said.
He urged the players to bring more laurels for the state by giving their best in different disciplines in the forthcoming National Games beginning from January 31.
Gogoi also thanked the different sports associations for providing intensive coaching to the players and said AOA would continue to provide all possible help and support to the players.
He said Assam players had done intensive preparation and was expecting around 40-50 medals that include 10 to 12 gold medals.
The AOA would also give Rs one lakh to the gold medal winner.
