The chief minister in a meeting with Bodoland Territorial Council Chief Hagrama Mohilary, Group of Ministers and senior officials here discussed several issues related to the relief and rehabilitation of persons affected in ethnic violence last year.
Gogoi also directed officials of Revenue Department to provide ration for another two-and-a-half-months to the affected families following a plea from the BTC Chief.
Assam Minister for Panchayat Rural Development, Rakibul Hussain said his department has allocated 12,500 houses at Rs 75,000 per unit under Indira Awas Yojana (IAY) to the violence-hit BPL families with identity cards.
The Centre has offered a special aid of Rs 300 crore comprising special assistance of Rs 100 crore for relief and rehabilitation, Rs 100 crore under special plan assistance for development works in the affected areas and Rs 100 crore under the IAY scheme for re-building damaged houses.
Later, a separate meeting was also held by Gogoi with BTC Chief and senior officials of Home and Political Department to discuss law and order situation in BTAD areas.
