Speaking on the occasion, Gogoi said the Centre would bring about a paradigm shift in the higher education sector by undertaking studies in the areas of gap analysis, designing curriculum relevant to present day requirement and the latest trends of research studies.
Terming his government's collaborative agreement with Curtin University as a milestone in the field of education, Gogoi said the purpose of the agreement was to raise the standard of research and redirect it to the development of the state.
Under the partnership, Curtin University would work along with the state in developing and implementing world class Washington Accord accreditated programme to improve the level of technology, education and research in Assam.
State Education Minister Sarat Barkotoky said the partnership was entered into to augment research capacity and use it as a catalyst to solve fundamental problems in the state.
