Gogoi turns 81

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi
today turned 81, but he spent the day resting on the advice of doctors.
The chief minister, suffering from cough due to dust allergy, had undergone a medical check up at the Guwahati Medical College Hospital here on October 8 and was advised rest for a few days by doctors.
CMO officials said that the chief minister would not celebrate his birthday, but would spend the day with his family.
Gogoi is serving as the chief minister of the state for the third consecutive term since 2001.
