Gold biscuits, weighing 4.5 kg and valued at Rs 1.5 crore, were today seized from a passenger who arrived here by an Air India flight from Singapore.
Customs officials found the gold biscuits concealed in the suitcase of the passenger, Chandran, an airport staff AI car driver, officials said.
Chandran, a native of Chennai, has been arrested, the officials added.
This is the second such seizure in as many days. Yesterday, officials recovered Rs 26 crore worth gold dumped in a dustbin at the airport.
