Gold buckle seized from air passenger

Customs officials today seized a gold buckle weighing 349.5 gm and valued at about Rs 10.57 lakh from a passenger who arrived here today from Dubai via Doha.
The seizure was effected from Jabir Uthen Mavungal (28), who reached here by a Qatar Airlines flight, Airport sources said.
Customs officials found that the passenger was wearing a leather belt with a thick metallic buckle.
On detailed examination, it was found that the unusually heavy silver coloured buckle was of 24 carat purity.
