This is believed to be the biggest armed robbery in the past two years, a senior police official said.
The incident took place this afternoon when the owner of the enterprise, Sahi Jewellers, had gone to deposit money at a nearby bank in Rohini Sector 17, leaving behind his son, Nikunj, as the in-charge of the showroom where three employees were present too.
Four men and a woman then came to the showroom, parking their white sedan car outside its premises, said a police official privy to the investigation.
Suddenly one of them pulled out a gun and the woman left the showroom silently.

The armed man held Nikunj and three employees on gunpoint and, pointing towards the locker, they asked them to put all jewellery in the back packs they carried, the official said.
They attacked one of the employees with the butt of their gun as he tried to raise an alarm and they opened fire as they noticed Nikunj reaching out for the licensed gun kept in the showroom.
TheCCTV cameras installed in the showroom were found to be dysfunctional.
When questioned, Nikunj told police that the system was yet to be reinstalled after a recent renovation work.
The police have registered a case in connection with the matter and have not ruled out the possibility of an insider having tipped off the robbers.
Investigation is underway, the official added.
