At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in October rose by Rs 34, or 0.13 per cent, to Rs 26,190 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 56 lots.
Likewise, the yellow metal for delivery in August edged higher by Rs 15, or 0.06 per cent, to Rs 26,088 per 10 grams in 4,788 lots.
Market analysts attributed the rise in gold futures to a firm global trend.
Meanwhile, the metal added 0.1 per cent to trade at USD 1,261.83 an ounce in London.
