Gold rose by Rs 103 to Rs 29,332 per 10 grams in futures trading today as speculators raised their bets, taking positive cues from overseas markets.
Gold for delivery in far-month June rose by Rs 103, or 0.35 per cent, to Rs 29,332 per 10 grams, in a business turnover of 350 lots.
Analysts said speculators widened their bets, tracking a firming global trend as demand for the safe haven asset picked up as continued geo-political tensions boosted the metal's appeal.
Globally, gold surged 0.99 per cent to USD 1,286.60 in New York yesterday.
