Gold prices today fell by Rs 60 to Rs 25,430 per 10 grams in futures trade amid a weak global trend.
The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) remained closed for morning session on account Diwali (Bali Pratipada).
At Multi Commodity Exchange, the December contract of gold fell Rs 60, or 0.24 per cent, to Rs 25,430 per 10 gram, in a business turnover of 204 lots.
The metal far-month February contract was also trading down Rs 49, or 0.19 per cent, at Rs 25,632 per ten gram, in business volume of two lots.
Analysts attributed the fall in gold futures to a weak global trend where it traded at almost five-year lows as investors sold bullion-backed funds amid expectations for a US interest rate increase in December.
In the international market, gold was little changed at USD 1086.50 an ounce in London.
