Gold seized from aircraft toilet

Gold bars weighing 1.4 kg and worth about Rs 43 lakh was seized from the toilet of an aircraft which arrived here from Dubai by the customs officials today.
The seizure was made by the officials during rummaging of the aircraft, an official release said.
The gold bars were found concealed in two packets that were wrapped using adhesive tape in the rear toilet of the aircraft, it said.
The aircraft, which was scheduled to depart for New Delhi, was later diverted to Colombo due to "technical reasons".
