Gold seized, women passengers detained

Two Sri Lankan women passengers were detained by Customs officials at the airport here and 800 grams of gold ornaments seized from them, airport sources said today.
The women, identified as Fathima Rukiya and Fathima Muthiya, arrived by a Sri Lankan flight from Colombo last night.
Customs officials seized the gold ornaments worth about Rs 30 lakhs while checking their baggage.
They were detained for questioning, the sources said.
