While gold fell by Rs 100 to Rs 30,100 per ten grams, silver lost Rs 300 to Rs 53,200 per kg.
Marketmen said stockists selling on the back of sluggish demand at prevailing higher levels mainly led to the fall in gold and silver prices.
On the domestic front, gold of 99.9 and 99.5 per cent purity fell by Rs 100 each to Rs 30,100 and Rs 29,900 per ten grams, respectively. It had gained Rs 130 yesterday.
In line with a general weak trend, silver ready dropped by Rs 300 to Rs 53,200 per kg and weekly-based delivery by Rs 105 to Rs 52,645 per kg.
On the other hand, silver coins held steady at Rs 80,000 for buying and Rs 81,000 for selling of 100 pieces.
