Gold worth Rs 70 lakh seized at Chennai Airport

In two separate incidents, airport customs here seized gold worth Rs 70 lakh from two passengers who arrived today.
A Kozhikode-bound passenger, who arrived from Kuala Lumpur by a Malaysian Airlines flight, was questioned and searched. He was found carrying two gold biscuits, weighing one kg, concealed in his shoes, airport authorities said.
In the second incident, a passenger, who arrived from Kuala Lumpur by an Air India Express flight, was found carrying one kg gold concealed in his rectum.
The two passengers have been arrested, authorities added.
