At a function held at the headquarters of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Ambassador of India Ranjit Rae handed over 35 different vehicles to the Commission with Indian Assistance of 33.12 million Nepali rupees (USD 331,000).
The fleet comprises five sedan cars, 15 double door pickup cabs and 15 four wheel drive Sports Utility Vehicle Jeeps.
India's support to the CIAA to enhance its logistical capacity will provide them greater mobility and contribute to their national objective of curbing corruption, a statement of the Indian mission said.
India had earlier gifted 846 vehicles to Security Agencies and Election Commission of Nepal during the elections held in 2013.
Last year, a number of Micro or Mini Buses, Motorbikes, ladies Scooter, Cars were gifted by India.
India has been gifting ambulances and buses on the occasion of India's Independence Day and Republic Day since 1994. So far, India has gifted 462 ambulances and 90 buses to various Government and non-Government organisations of Nepal.
