Goods worth crores of rupees destroyed in market fire

Property and goods worth several crores of rupees were damaged today in a devastating fire at Muzaffarpur in Bihar.
Muzaffarpur District Magistrate in-charge Kamal Tanuj said, "Fire broke out at Meena Bazar market at Companybagh early today."
"The blaze was so intense that it completely destroyed around 200 shops in the wholesale market which sells plastic and woolen goods, toys and utensils. The loss would run into several crores of rupees," Tanuj said.
The DM in-charge also informed that it took 11-12 hours to bring the fire under control and fire tenders from adjoining districts were also called in to fight the blaze.
