Delhi Labour Minister Gopal Rai Tuesday inspected LNJP Hospital and was told that contractual employees there have not received salaries for three months, according to an official statement.
Rai directed officers to clear the salaries within three days and warned them of strict action if they fail to comply.
The direction came a day after the Arvind Kejriwal government decided that cabinet ministers would be on the ground from June 3 to know the problems of people and find viable solutions for them.
"During inspection, minister found that contractual employees were getting salaries for three months. In view of this, he directed officers concerned to clear the file pertaining to their salaries within three days or face action," an official was quoted as saying in the statement.
He also directed the hospital authorities to ensure that all the contractual employees get salaries as per minimum wages notified by the government.
