Milk supplier Gopaljee Ananda will increase prices by Rs 2 a litre across all variants in Delhi- NCR from tomorrow due to a rise in procurement costs.
The company has also decided to increase the prices by same amount in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
Gopaljee has decided to raise milk prices after the largest milk supplier in Delhi-NCR, Mother Dairy and another major supplier Amul has increased prices by the same amount. Kwality Ltd had also followed suit last week.
"The price of full cream milk has been raised to Rs 48 per litre from Rs 46 and that of toned milk to Rs 38 a litre from Rs 36. Double-toned milk will be available at Rs 34 per litre," Gopaljee Ananda said in a statement.
The Delhi-based dairy firm added that it is compelled to raise the retail prices because of the ongoing rise in the prices of raw milk in the last few months coupled with the need to ensure availability of milk in the market.
Gopaljee Ananda sells about 1.85 lakh litres of milk a day in Delhi-NCR. Gopaljee Ananda also sells milk in Uttranchal, parts of UP, Haryana and Rajasthan.
The company deals in dairy and other dairy related products and has plant in Pilkuah in Uttar Pradesh. It has a network of more than 1.5 lakh farmers, 1,500 villages and 25 chilling centres.
