"The reason we are here this week is to get the message out about Gorilla but also to spend some time with some of the local domestic players and understand their needs," Corning Gorilla Glass Director (Worldwide Sales and Applications Engineering) James Hollis said here.
Hollis said the company is trying to understand the local players requirements and also the problems faced by them.
India is one of the fastest growing markets for smartphones and Corning sees a significant opportunity to support the local brands, Hollis said.
Corning gorilla glass is currently used by over 33 major brands around the globe. Since its launch in 2007, more than 2.4 billion devices have been sold into the market place worldwide.
