Goa government has received a Rs 22-crore proposal from an IT firm to install wi-fi at schools and colleges across the state, Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar told the state Legislative Assembly today.
"There is no specific time frame for setting up of wi-fi in educational institutes. However, the department has received a proposal from M/s. ITG for an estimated amount of Rs 22,53,00,114 for implementing (providing) wi-fi for schools and colleges for a period of five years," Parsekar said in a written reply to a question by BJP MLA Subhash Faldesai.

"Based on the feasibility study, the department also planned to implement wi-fi on pilot basis through National Informatics Centre, Goa at 11 educational institutes," Parsekar added.
