Goutama Buddha statue in AP soon

A Gautama Buddha statue of over 120 feet height will be put up in Vijayawada, a top functionary of Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporations said here today.
The statue would be built either with a solid metal or a mountain rock and would be placed on the Sitarama hill situated on the right bank of river Krishna in the fast growing city of Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation Managing Director M Girija Shankar told PTI here.
After a statue of Buddha in Bhutan, the proposed one in Andhra Pradesh would perhaps be the second tallest statue in the world, he said.

The Tourism Corporation also has been contemplating to introduce helicopter services for the benefit of devotees from one famous shrine to another important shrine in Andhra Pradesh and the Thumby Aviation Company has come forward to offer their service to promote our spiritual tourism concept, he said.
