A release from the Directorate of Information Technology said that the e-district project launched in the first phase today has brought under its fold eleven State government departments.
Other departments would be covered in the next phase and the project is intended to provide various certificates on line to the citizens, the release said.
The e-district project is being implemented through the Puducherry e- governance society.
Presently 72 citizen centric' services are being provided electronically to the citizens through the State portal and the services could be availed at the common service centres and the services available under this system included providing income certificates, residence or nativity certificates and caste or community certificates.
