The one week old strike by government doctors in Kerala was called off today following an agreement reached at a meeting called by Health Minister V S Sivakumar.
The officers of Kerala Government Medical Officers Association (KGMOA) said in a statement that most of their demands were accepted by the government.
The strike had affected the functioning of government hospitals in the state. In some hospitals, even out patient wing also did not function.
The association's demands included notification on the service and wage conditions of doctors, withdraw a recent order on night duty for doctors and increase in stipends to postgraduate students on par with their counterparts at national level.
