Government wants disclosure of tube and bore wells

Delhi governmment has called for voluntary disclosure of tube and bore wells within three months by the owners to prevent the declining ground water level in the city.
Advertisements in this regard has been given out.
A notification in this regard was issued by the government in July 12, 2010 to curb illegal ground water drawal in the city for preventing the decline in the ground water level in the capital city.
The notification authorizes Delhi Jal Board (DJB) and NDMC, as per the area jurisdiction, for granting permission for ground water drawal, while violations are being dealt by concerned deputy commissioner of Revenue department, he being the authorized officer.
"For better implementation of the said notification, the need has arised for complete collation of the data of ground water drawl users. The collation of the data will actually aid in stricter and better enforcement of the said notification throughout the city," said a press statement issued by Delhi government.
The application form for the disclosure has been made available on the official websites of Delhi Jal Board-- www.Delhijalboard.Nic.In and Environment department--www.Environment.Delhigovt.Nic.In.
"This entire process will create data base of the borewells and tubewells existing in the city which will help government make judicious policies towards drawl of ground water keeping in view the alarming decline in ground water table in Delhi," the statement added.
