Governor extends festival greetings to people of Arunachal

Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Nirbhay Sharma today extended festival greetings to the people of Arunachal Pradesh on the occasion of Shapawng Yawng Manau Poi festival of the Singpho community beginning tomorrow.
In his festival message, the Governor expressed hope that the folk dance festival would promote socio-cultural growth of the every community of the state and help in preservation of their rich traditions.
The Governor said, "Shapawng Yawng Manau Poi is rich in cultural expression and offers a window to ancient Singpho folk culture. The rituals during the celebration have always helped in building warm social relations and communication, which leads to harmony and oneness amongst the people."
He exuded confidence that the ethno-cultural festival would continue to facilitate in carrying forward the age-old cultural heritage of the community.
"May this festival of rituals and dances further strengthen the bond of relationship in the society," he added.
