Govt acquires 9 properties dating back to Ahilyabai's rule

The Madhya Pradesh government has acquired nine properties constructed by illustrious 18th century ruler Ahilyabai Holkar following a complaint that the trust managing the properties had sold some of them.
Acting on the orders of the Indore Collector and Land Records Office, Khandwa, the local administration yesterday acquired the properties in Omkareshwar town.
The properties which, include temples, were built by Holkar, the ruler of the erstwhile state of Indore.
Official sources said the action followed a complaint that Khasgi Trust, which managed the properties, had sold two of them to a Dutch national and another to a local religious leader.
The properties which have been acquired are Mamleshwar Mahadev Mandir, Vishnupuri Ka Bungalow, Dhramshala and Manager's Rest House, incomplete Shiva temples between Brahmapuri and Vishnupuri, Shri Tryambakeshwar Mahadevi Mandir and Shivpuri Kotiteerth Ghat, Nagarkhana including Sakshi Ganpati Mandir, Ghariyalkhana, Nandigan Ki Deri and Shri Maruti Mandir.
