Government debt securities today saw robust response from foreign investors, attracting bids worth Rs 5,253 crore, as against Rs 3,840 crore on offer.
The auction for investment limits for such securities has been receiving a good response from foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) in recent past.
The online auction was conducted on BSE' 'ebidxchange' platform from 1530 hrs to 1730 hrs after the market closed. At the end of the 2-hour auction, 44 bids were declared successful.
FPIs have bid for investment limits in government bond worth Rs 5,253 crore (USD 822 million) as against Rs 3,840 crore (USD 601 million) on offer, exchange data showed.
The debt auction quota gives overseas investors the right to invest up to the limit purchased.
In an online auction earlier this month, government debt securities had attracted bids to the tune of Rs 9,887 crore from foreign investors as against Rs 7,120 crore on offer.
