As an add-on facility, Union Health Ministry today introduced an online procedure of receiving application from medical colleges seeking to start post- graduation courses or increase seats in existing ones.
After the online submission, applicants will have to upload a scanned copy of the consent of university, demand draft and other documents.
As per the revised procedure, an online application has been mandatory. It came into effect on March 15 and the last date for submission of applications is April 7, 2016.
"Applicants or colleges desirous of filing an application for purposes of starting of PG courses (broad specialities) or increase of seats in PG courses in an existing medical college are requested to follow these steps.
"Visit health ministry website and click on the link medicalcollegeappication.Gov.In. Candidates are requested to do a 'one time registration' using a valid email-address at the 'registration window' provided at the link," an official statement today said.
The ministry said the new system will be an "add-on" and run parallel to the conventional system of manual submission of applications.

Telling us how the idea struck, the young budding
entrepreneur says it all began from an everyday issue at home. "My mother is very fond of shopping and loved stocking her high value products. With changing trends, she would buy more products and the old luxury products would not be used.
Storage became a problem too," states Kejriwal. This led her to think of a solution which she presumed was a problem in many other households too and that is the birth of DuaVivo. A concept quite popular in the UK and USA already, Kejriwal was curious to see how it would work in the Indian market. But setting it apart, she says it's a shopping experience that saves you money.
"DuaVivo is not just any other brand. Who would have thought saving money on a Louis Vuitton bag or a Rolex watch was possible," says the Co-founder who's one of the lucky ones to have found out the direction of her life at such an early stage.
While it was only a webstore, to begin with, DuaVivo has launched the first experiential brick and mortar store at VR Bengaluru. So if one wanted to touch and feel the product or is worried about the authenticity of buying expensive merchandise online, the store is the solution. "Our store is DuaVivo's biggest USP. It ensures that the seller and buyer can experience the services; touch and feel of the products that we offer; choose from various brands and categories of products, etc.
The store functions on a consignment model which means that the product will be on display for 90 days. The website is similar to a store but it also works on the customer-to-customer model. At DuaVivo the idea of 'Buy, Use and Resell' is the core of our business," says Mehal Kejriwal. At the store you can expect merchandise ranging from sunglasses and shoes to bags and watches.
