Stressing on streamlining the education department for better functioning, Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand today said that the government is committed to address the genuine demands of its employees.
"The government is committed to take performance of the department to new heights by adequately addressing the genuine demands of its work force", Chand said addressing a delegation of J&K School Education Employees Co-ordination Committee, here.
He said, a motivated workforce goes a long way in performing duties and all stakeholders and functionaries in the department have to work together in delivering quality education to students.
"Efforts have been made to promote transparency and professionalism, so that the teaching fraternity get a conducive working atmosphere," he added.
The department has already referred over 500 vacancies to the Public Service Commission (PSC) and more than 5000 posts have been referred to the Service Selection Recruitment Board (SSRB), Chand said.
A vibrant transfer policy will soon be implemented to address the staff requirements in rural and far-off schools and relevant provisions will be made in the policy to ensure that every teacher serves at least one academic year in distant areas, the deputy CM added.
